We built Comms Inc because the best brands deserve the best people — not a graduate handed your account on day three. Every person here has operated at board level, shaped major brand strategies and delivered real, measurable results.
Meet the team
We've seen what happens when PR is treated as an afterthought — brands that shout loudly but say nothing, campaigns that generate noise but no trust, companies that spend millions on advertising and wonder why nobody believes them. PR done at its best shapes culture, changes minds and builds the kind of brand equity that no paid media budget can buy.
At Comms Inc, we treat public relations as the central discipline it deserves to be. It informs strategy, drives editorial authority, builds AI visibility and creates the stories that people actually want to share. We're not here to manage your press office. We're here to change how the world sees your brand.
Ed Watson has spent more than 30 years doing PR the way it should be done — as a serious, strategic, business-critical discipline. An award-winning brand communications expert, he has promoted and protected some of the largest and most recognisable brands in Europe, working at board level to shape not just the story, but the strategy behind it.
Ed spent nearly a decade as Head of PR at Asda and George — at the time a retailer with 16 million shoppers through its doors every week, operating one of the UK's most active and high-profile press offices. He managed issues spanning food sourcing, employment, ethics and global supply chains, while simultaneously delivering the kind of bold, national consumer campaigns that got people talking.
He then joined Debenhams as Director of Public Relations, recruited specifically to reshape the press office and reimagine what PR could do for one of Britain's most iconic department store brands. After nearly six years, he moved to N Brown Group — the home of JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo — as Global Communications and Creative Services Director, before returning as Interim Chief Brand Officer with full responsibility for brand across the group.
In 2015, Ed founded We Are PREW, a brand and digital PR consultancy with 30+ industry awards, working with brands from Liberty and John Lewis to Barclaycard and Travelodge. Comms Inc is the next chapter — built for a world where PR, digital and AI visibility must work as one inclusive discipline.
Down to earth, emotionally intelligent and relentlessly action-oriented, Ed brings creative flair, board-level gravitas and deep media connections to every client relationship. He is the kind of communications partner who treats your brand as if it were his own.

Shakila is a communications leader with over 25 years’ experience delivering integrated communications that shape perception, elevate brands and drive commercial performance — across financial services, retail and hospitality. Her greatest strength lies in storytelling that shifts perception, fuels performance and grows the bottom line.
Her strategic leadership was pivotal to the transformation and expansion of Travelodge, supporting major brand relaunches and significant commercial growth, and she has built influential CEO profiles with consistent national media presence. A seasoned crisis expert, she is a calm, trusted advisor to senior executives and boards — and has been recognised in the PR Week Power Book for ten consecutive years.

Louise is a senior PR consultant and former BBC journalist with 28 years across retail, FMCG, food & drink, interiors and consumer and trade news generation. She has worked with brands including Heck, Lily’s Kitchen, Ocean Spray, Geeta’s, Tropicana, Costa Coffee, Snowdonia Cheese and Cartwright & Butler.
She previously managed the consumer and corporate PR teams in the Safeway press office, winning two PR Week Awards for Best In-House Department, and provides crisis PR support for Heineken’s pub division. Her corporate and business work regularly lands coverage in The Times, Telegraph, FT, Yahoo! Finance and Forbes.

Lisa is a senior PR consultant with 25 years of consumer, corporate and B2B experience across retail and FMCG. She has worked in top London agencies on accounts including Electrolux, Zanussi, AEG and Scottish & Newcastle’s retail restaurants and bars.
In-house, she was PR and Communications Manager for the John Lewis press office, promoting over half a million merchandise lines and playing an instrumental role in the opening of the retailer’s first Oxford Street Food Hall and its first new London store in 25 years at Westfield, Stratford. For the past 17 years she has worked independently with brands such as Lily’s Kitchen, Rude Health, Ocean Spray, Higgidy and Manomasa.

Jess has spent twenty years in PR — the first decade in traditional consumer and B2B work for brands including M&S, Converse, Amazon Fashion and GHD, and the years since specialising in digital PR that builds coverage earning links, authority and rankings.
Her approach is data-led and story-driven: starting with what a brand already owns, layering in desk research and founder or spokesperson interviews, then building campaigns designed to be genuinely newsworthy, linkable and timely.
Not a nice-to-do. Not a support function. Public relations is the most powerful brand-building tool that exists — and we treat it that way, every single day.
You get the grown-ups. The people you meet at the start are the people doing the work. We've been in the rooms, managed the crises, delivered the results.
Safe PR is invisible PR. We push our clients to be bold, distinctive and memorable. The best stories are the ones that make people stop, look twice and talk.
Traditional media, digital authority, AI visibility — we don't pick one. We build communications strategies that work across every channel where your audience finds you.
If you want a PR partner who treats your brand with the seriousness it deserves — and brings the experience to back it up — let's talk.
